The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (Penn's Landing) manages a collection of parking facilities in and around the Delaware River Waterfront. Discounted monthly parking rates are offered to customers that pre-pay for a month of parking. Over time, this popular service became cumbersome to manage because it was all done in person at DRWC's office.

To make this service more accessible, and more efficient, pilotLight was asked to develop a self-serve, online portal where customers can make payments. To meet this goal pilotLight developed a custom Django application that provides customers with a simple control panel they can use to make payments, view past invoices, deactivate their account, or enable automated monthly payments.

This application makes extensive use of Authorize.net's Customer Information Manager (CIM) to safely store customer data as well as process automated recurring payments. A collection of custom Django management commands were developed to handle automated functionality such as generating invoices, sending email notifications, processing recurring transactions, and other tasks.

Since the application's launch a great majority of parking customers have migrated to it. This automated, self-serve solution has greatly benefited the customers and staff at the Delaware River Waterfront Corp.
